Marriage Counseling
Many people seek Couples/Marriage Counseling when they feel their relationship has changed, and it no longer provides a source of connection and support for one or both partners. They may be struggling with feeling validated, perpetual conflict, work/life balance, intimacy problems, or betrayal. Couples counseling provides a space to process, learn, and make positive changes that can restore the connection of a secure relationship. Most couples participate in this form of counseling once a week or every other week for whatever time period feels right to them.
Premarital Counseling
Beginning a partnership with guided conversations can fundamentally improve couples’ communication skills, clarify expectations, align values/goals, and address unspoken concerns. Over the course of five sessions, couples explore topics that matter most to them and that are most likely to spark challenges in their relationship. (These services may be purchased as a gift.)
Discernment Counseling
Discernment Counseling is a short-term process that’s appropriate when one or both partners feel uncertain about staying in the relationship. During Discernment Counseling, I help partners make a thoughtful, informed decision on whether to try couples therapy, separate/divorce, or maintain the status quo. Couples typically complete this process in three to five sessions.
Separation Counseling
Separation Counseling helps couples navigate the end of a relationship with care and clarity. This form of counseling is particularly valuable when there are children involved, because it can help reduce the emotional impact of seismic family change. It’s also helpful for clarifying the logistics of separation in a space where details can be worked through constructively.
Marathon Couples Therapy
Marathon Couples Therapy is an efficient approach for couples looking to make faster, deeper progress than traditional weekly therapy. This form of counseling often appeals to couples with busy professional lives as well as couples in time-sensitive situations. The accelerated format allows couples to build momentum that can lead to deeper emotional processing, which can be especially useful for unpacking long-standing patterns and healing after ruptures. See my Marathon Couple’s Therapy page for more details about this program.
Fees + Good Faith Estimate
You can use all major credit and debit cards, as well as HSA cards, for payment. If you have insurance, I am considered an 'out-of-network' provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Benefits are dependent on your insurance plan and deductible. My NPI number is 1942097381.
Federal law requires certain healthcare providers, including LMFTAs such as myself, to provide current and potential clients with a “Good Faith Estimate” for the cost of treatment when not using insurance. This is intended to provide transparency to clients regarding their expected expenses and to protect them from surprises when they receive their bills.
